McNamara Student-Athlete of the Week: Danielle Mousseau
Each week, the McNamara Academic Center for Student-Athletes (MAC) will recognize one University of Minnesota student-athlete for his or her academic achievements. The winner of the McNamara Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 9th is Danielle Mousseau from the women’s tennis team.
Coach Tyler Thomson is extremely proud of the accomplishments that Mousseau has achieved in both her academic and athletic career at the University of Minnesota. “Danielle is an extremely hard worker and gives her all in everything that she does,” Thomson said. “She deserves this recognition and she will be missed after she graduates and leaves the program next week.”
Academic Counselor Chris Cords also believes that Mousseau has left a positive impact on her teammates and on the university.
“Danielle is a great student, teammate, and tennis player. She performed very well in one of the top journalism programs in the country,” Cords said. “She is everything you hope for in a student-athlete.”
Mousseau is originally from Florida. She is graduating this month with a degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations. Danielle has been named a Scholar-Athlete each year that she was a student at the U and has also been named to the Dean’s List four times.
