McNamara Student-Athlete of the Week: Anthony Jacobs
Each week, the McNamara Academic Center for Student-Athletes (MAC) will recognize one University of Minnesota student-athlete for his or her academic achievements. The winner of the McNamara Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 4th is Anthony Jacobs from the football team.
Coach Tim Cross believes that Jacobs has just begun to create a positive impression at the University of Minnesota. “Anthony is a fine young man,” Cross said. “I believe he can achieve any goal that he sets his mind on accomplishing.”
Jacobs is a freshman from Northfield, Minnesota.
Academic Counselor William Gill has been impressed by the hard work that Jacobs puts into everything that he does and have no doubt that he will be successful in life.
“Anthony Jacobs is an extremely hard working student-athlete in the classroom and within his respective sport. Academically, Anthony has mentioned majoring in a business-related field among his academic interests,” Gill said. “Through his hard work, high expectations and overall positive attitude, those who are most familiar with Anthony’s character know that he will be among the U’s most successful students upon his graduation.”
Learning Specialist Meredith McCall noted that Jacobs is performing at least the B+ level in all of his classes. She said, “Anthony continues to work extremely hard. Not only has he impressed those of us who work in the MAC, he has also made a positive impression on his professors. His writing professor has let us know that he is a joy to have in class.”
